LostMiner is similar to Terraria. It is a 2D-style video game that still allows for mining, building and crafting. There are also animals, bad guys and other things as you play. While the graphics aren't going to win any awards, they do fit the theme of the game well. Most complaints are bug-related however, this is an independently developed game, so it's expected that there will be bugs. The game is still relatively affordable and surprisingly enjoyable to play.

Pixel Worlds is a fun combination of MMO and Minecraft (or Terraria). Players are in a 2D world that has a variety of mining and crafting mechanics. There are also dungeons, as well as other things to explore. What makes it unique is the inclusion of other players in the game. You can join servers that are already in development or create your own server for other players to join. It's an amazing experience, and it's cross-platform with Mac and PC.
