In the spring of this year, Minecraft developer Mojang and gaming tech company Nvidia announced that the sandbox game was getting a new feature that would allow for a massive visual overhaul. The brand new Minecraft with RTX option was released as an early version in April. Now, the full launch of Minecraft with RTX is taking place on Windows 10.
"We're excited to officially launch Ray Tracing in Minecraft for Windows 10, powered by NVIDIA and Minecraft's Render Dragon technology!" Mojang announces on the building game's site. "Players will get the chance to enjoy Minecraft in a different way (sorry), with brighter blocks and emissive pixel. Water reflections cast shadows, dazzling global illumination, and precisely cast shadows. The studio has unveiled a brand-new footage reel that showcases the block builder's stunning new ray traced graphics that you can view below. The clip includes handy before-and after shots of various RTX enabled environments. It demonstrates how this feature can alter the entire game's visuals.
Mojang says that to make the new feature working in your game on Windows 10, you'll need to have a GPU that is capable of ray tracing, for example a "GeForce RTX 2060 GPU or higher". The developer clarifies that Minecraft with RTX will automatically enhance the experience of all Minecraft games by using a special rendering texture pack. plugins This interplays with the effects of ray traced to enhance the experience.
