It's unlikely that Minecraft will meets the August release date on PS4 after it failed the Sony certification tests. It's now back to the fixing board at 4J Studios. The team will need to submit the game again to be certified before it's released.
4J has been hard at work fixing bugs and resolving issues throughout the month. This isn't just for the PS4 version, but also for the upcoming Xbox One and Vita releases. We've contacted the studio to confirm that there is a delay, and whether that'll only affect the PS4 version or other platforms too. All three versions are due to launch this month.
Sony discovered some issues during #MinecraftPS4's final test. We are currently working to fix them, but we must go through the whole process over again.

Owners of downloaded Xbox 360 and PS3 versions will be able to upgrade to Xbox One and PS4 respectively at a cost of $5. The offer will be valid for at least one year after the release date. What's new in the new consoles expect bigger worlds and more draw distances than previous console releases.
The Vita version is cross-buyable with PS3. This means that those who bought Minecraft on the console will get the handheld port free of charge, whereas new buyers will be able to play the game on Vita and PS3. Proxylist101 Like the other ports, the price to grind your pickaxe on Vita is $20.
