Have you ever heard the expression "it is the thing that it is"? What does that expression mean exactly?
Before I understood the deeper specification of this expression, I envisioned an emaciated yogi guru from the lotus position floating above the ground imperiously imparting wisdom that could take scholars multiple lifetimes to interpret. Seeing as how this can be my last life on earth along with the lotus position would put me in traction, I knew that consulting this course In Miracles is needed me clarify its meaning.
What is the IT that we're writing about here? In line with the Course in Miracles, It can be truth, specifically God's truth. Why is it imperative that you emphasize it is God's truth? Because God's facts are not ready to accept interpretations whereas a human's simple truth is. Multiple versions of human truth have result in a numerous religions. The Columbia Electronic Encyclopedia defines religion like a "system of thought, feeling, and action that's shared with a group understanding that provides the members an item of devotion."
Who devised the device of thought? On whose feelings are these thoughts based? Are actions really necessary? In line with the Course In Miracles, God just is and our ultimate goal would be to return to a perfect state of being. There is absolutely no thought or action within the state of being, you merely are. What mustn't be forgotten is the underlying thread of all religions: God is creator, God is love and we're all perfect and infinite children of God.
Put another way, "it 's what it is" might be rewritten to "God's love may be the only truth and it's also absolute" and also this truth knows no bounds which is timeless.
