Who would have thought that a petite girl like me would defeat the notorious school bully...but I did!
Ever since the new year had started and Mattheo transferred to our school, it had become a living hell for us. He will pick on students almost every day if only they humiliated him or annoyed him. I just did not understand why Mattheo always resorted to violence as the solution. He was feared by most of the students and teachers. Mattheo was burly and he intimidated many of us. Luckily for my case, I managed to slip under his radar, and I longed to keep it that way...or so I thought.
Unfortunately for me one day, Mattheo accidentally stepped on my untied shoelaces and as a result, he landed flat face down on a puddle of murky water. Instantaneously, the whole crowd that congregated there to watch the commotion broke the silence and burst into cacophonous laughter. They just had to howl like hyenas, pushing Mattheo's button. Mattheo clenched his fists and gave me a menacing look, cueing me that it was about time I start running. The glint of his dark, malevolent eyes haunted me for the whole day, and I knew very well that I had to prepare for the worst-case scenario.
