Badai matahari

Badai matahari juga bisa terjadi karena adanya Flare atau Ledakan Cahaya. Flare muncul ketika terjadi pelepasan sejumlah besar energi. Semakin banyak bintik hitam terbentuk maka Flare akan semakin banyak. Flare dapat menyebabkan badai magnetik di bumi dengan mengeluarkan partikel kecepatan tinggi sehingga menyebabkan tekanan besar pada magnetosfer bumi.
Bintik hitam bisa berkurang dengan menurunnya aktfitas dinamo matahari atau tekanan radiasi dari reaksi nuklir di pusat matahari. Contoh yang akan terjadi jika berkurangnya suplai energi dari matahari pada bumi yaitu penguapan air laut yang akan menjadi hujan rendah.
