Objective: Identify how social factors such as family, peers, and teachers impact students' decisions to pursue engineering programs

Family
comment: I wanted to be a civil engineer and my family also wants that which is they support me

comment: Family because they are the ones I always hang out with and they are the ones I always talk to and so they can give me an opinion about my decisions.

comment: I really had no interest in the engineering program but since my friends and family members told me that I am good at math and science it would be better if I majored in engineering

comment: My decision to pursue engineering was influenced more by societal factors because I was surrounded by engineers and also the people around me who said that I was capable and that I should pursue engineering and I go for it.

comment: People around me seem to have envisioned for me to become an engineer

comment: It's more on the societal factor, more on the outside factor

comment: My decision to pursue engineering was influenced by many people and society because I feel that engineers are needed more now,

comment:Yes, because my mom really wanted me to pursue engineering

comment: my family, they want me to take it because they say the salary is high and I will earn a lot in this program.

comment: Actually, it was my father who told me to do engineering


comment: Peers want me to take it and the reason why is that they see my skill in math

comment: My peers are also going to study engineering, so of course I want to have accompany.

comment: It's also based on what people say, what people around me tell me, that's what I'll take

comment: But they said I was good and they said my math and science skills were okay so they really help me to fix my decision.
it influenced me because most of my friends are in the engineering field

comment: As for peers, engineering was the preferred program of my circle of friends, so I became more interested in engineering

comment: In terms of societal factors like friends, they are really not the ones who will tell you what to choose, but they still have an effect on your interest and they are there to support your decisions.

Teacher
comment: And as for the teachers, since I have high grades in math, they tell me that I have some sort of potential in engineering.

comment: My teacher is the one who introduced me to robotics. So maybe because of it, I like fiddling with wirings and that’s why I wanted to do electrical.
