The Nether's ferry service is called the Strider. The player can use the same method as riding the pig in Overworld to transform a wild Strider into an overworld mount that can cross large lava flows. Personally, I don't mind the occasional, three-hour bridge-building sessions or the glitches that make me plunge right into 2000-degree hot liquid baths, but the Strider sure makes lava life considerably simpler. All you need is a saddle and a warped fungus on a stick, and giddyup - you've got yourself an equestrian!

A ride on the Strider can be a bumpy experience. Not just because of your own palpable fear of falling into the lava and losing your entire possessions, but due to the Strider's movement. It walks like a bobblehead who you cannot stop poking at while driving with your parents. Very charming, but an accident if you are looking for Brandon.
"Animations in Java's version of Minecraft aren't made using an external tool. Instead, it's basically mathematical functions that cause them to move in a certain way. Once I was playing around with this and the Strider did a sort of wobble from one side to the next. It was quirky and fun especially when you consider the Strider’s... unique appearance.
