Minecraft's Ray-tracing Beta Arrives on PC this Week

Ten years have passed since the game's launch and Minecraft remains one of the most loved games of the present It's now getting a makeover by Ray Tracing. This is the most advanced form of gaming graphics. Monster It emulates the physical behavior of light and the environment to give games high-quality cinematic rendering.

NVIDIA first announced it was working on realistic graphics for Minecraft last year - now they're scheduled to release to Windows players on April 16th. The beta version is currently in beta. It will feature the familiar Minecraft single-player experience, with ray-traced reflections and shadows as well as lighting and custom, realistic materials. Six brand new RTX worlds were created by community members. These worlds that include Aquatic Adventure, Imagination Island and Neon District, are available for free on the Minecraft Marketplace to gamers with Minecraft Windows 10.

The release that is focused on visuals also comes with physically-based rendering (PBR). This means that surfaces will appear more real, regardless of whether they're rough matte stone or glossy smooth Ice. NVIDIA's NVIDIA DLSS 2.0 is available to assist in the heavy lifting to power this. NVIDIA's AI upscaler 2.0 makes use of RTX tensor centers to take a lower resolution image and then increase it to the desired resolution. It's a new version that NVIDIA released along with NVIDIA RTX cards.

Since it's in beta, you can expect some issues at this stage. The beta does not include certain features, such as multiplayer realms, third-party servers or cross-play. There are design issues and dimensions that aren't optimized for Ray-tracing. Banners are black, and slime mobs don't have faces. These are issues that will be addressed in the near future. A date has yet to be confirmed for official release - developers hope to get feedback from the community regarding the beta version first.
