Querida Eileen,
Me tardo en escribir estas líneas, por respeto a las buenas razones que sé que tuviste para decidir irte. Y las escribo, finalmente, sin macular ese respeto, porque sentí que debía hacerlo.
En uno de sus libros, Ransom Riggs escribió que una canción y una sonrisa de alguien que nos importa pueden ser suficientes para distraernos de toda la oscuridad, tan solo por un momento. Estas palabras emergieron hoy del océano de mi memoria y supe que se suponía que debía escribirte.
Y con esas palabras todavía ondeando sobre las aguas de mi mente, expreso mis más sinceros deseos con el que cada una de mis palabras yace impregnadas, de que los mismos vientos que te llevaron a otros prados, te traigan un puñado de canciones y sonrisas que te sean suficientes como para—tan solo por un momento—ahuyentar la oscuridad, donde te lleven tus piernas, dónde descansa tu mente. Sin embargo, si la presencia de ésta aún se vuelve inevitable y persistente, que haya en tu camino innumerables luciérnagas.
