Romeo would have sworn to kill mercutio to avenge Tybalt ( because he's "in love" with juliet) and attempt to get on the capulets good side.
he would only pretend to kill Mercutio by giving him a poison that faked his death.
Mercutio would not know romeos plans and would kill himself before Romeo could get to him.
Romeo would then feel so bad about it he would kill himself followed by Juliet killing herself just as proven in the actual play.
So.. pretty much nothing dramaticly changes when Mercutio attacks Tybalt, so the ending wouldn't change much.
