I had a big issue with the Walgreens Pharmacy in this location on Tuesday, May 2nd, I went to my doctor's office to get a prescription refill and I informed my doctor I'm having heart palpitations I cannot sleep at night and he believes I'm having thyroid issues with my Adderall 30 milligram, my doctor informed me that he wants to give me a trial of Adderall 25 milligram for the next two months to see if that fixes everything And he informed me that if I have any issues with my pharmacy just to tell them to call them and he can explain everything. So I go to my Walgreens Pharmacy at 508 MARTIN LUTHER KING East Orange, NJ, 07018 and I tried to refill the prescription, an Arabic male I believe, light skin with curly hair, and a black African American woman I believe her name is Claudia but I'm not too sure on her name, she and the guy both told me I would not be able to get this prescription refilled. They told me that I was too early for the prescription to get refilled until Monday, May 09th I have formed them that I am not too early and that I have no more of the 30 milligrams because I was told not to take that anymore because of the heart palpitations and Insomnia I'm developing and I also informed them that my doctor told me to let them know if they have any questions they can call them at any time. The guy said "but Only 5 milligrams though" and informed me that there was nothing they could do. They cannot refill it and I can come back later for a different pharmacist or just go to a different location. Here's a little of a backstory For The past seven months the whole nation has been under an ADHD medication shortage So I have been trying to go to different locations for multiple months trying to get my medication refilled no other location other than this one have any AdderallRX in stock All other Walgreens Pharmacies, CVS, ShopRite, mom and pops, and other pharmacies And my local area are in backlogged for this prescription for the past seven months I had to go one-week last month with no medication due to the shortage. The pharmacies already knew that because I explained to them, that it is not possible to go to a different pharmacy but they did not care they told me they cannot refill it I asked when the pharmacy manager was going to be in and they told me around 2 o'clock even though someone else told me 1 o'clock. so they canceled the refill because they were already processing it and I just left the pharmacist and I and I were not able to go back that following Wednesday or Thursday. Now I have time on Friday, May 5th and I went back to the pharmacy to get my prescription refilled I'm told that there are only 22 left And I have to take it or leave it knowing I might not be able to get this medication refilled for weeks so I took it. so now I have to go a total of 10 days with no medication because the pharmacies did not refill the prescription, not because they couldn't but because they didn't want to. because that Friday, May 5th at 7:30 am I was able to refill it with no issues at that same pharmacy. so now I have to go a total of 10 days when no medication because of the two pharmacies that did not want to refill the prescription that is very unprofessional and I don't know how I'm going to be able to focus at work for the next 8 days I'm gonna reach out to the pharmacist manager today and see if I can get the eight Pills that I'm I owed and I'm going to call the walgreens manager and see if there's anything he can do about these two pharmacies, remind I was not early because I had a different prescription And I did not need to wait until the May 9th like they said that I had to, it was done on May 5th only because I was at work on the May 3rd and 4th and I was unable to get my prescription down there I don't want those two pharmacies to get in trouble but I wish for someone to contact me and inform me that they had been retrained on the protocols on refilling class 2 subsidence or narcotic prescriptions, and if they have any questions or concerns about a medication and refills to call the doctor like he has instruct them to. or to check with their manager I would like to know the outcome of the situation of the retraining of those two pharmacies.
