Every generation has a band that leaves something behind, a group that connects with people and makes a difference. For Linkin Park Hoodies and alternative rock fans of the 2000s, Linkin Park was that band. They helped amplify a new sound, they were a critical part of the youth movement, and they made music that mattered to millions of listeners. From rap metal to crossover, they created incomparable sounds and wrote songs like Numb that have gone on to be bona fide all-time classics.

Founded by Californians Mike Shinoda, Mark Wakefield, Brad Delson and Chester Bennington, Linkin Park came together just as the nu metal movement was taking shape. They quickly broke through with albums that strayed from the genre's usual fusion of heavy metal and beat-driven hip hop into an amalgam of raucous punk, atmospheric electronic, polished pop, and hardcore rap.


Over the years, they continued to evolve and expand their music, gaining more and more devoted followers with each release. Unfortunately, in 2017, the band suffered a tragedy when lead singer Chester Bennington took his own life. Their legacy endures, however, and their songs of loss and hope continue to reach out to a new audience today.
