Next, heat a pan over medium heat and add the sesame oil. Add the onion, white vinegar, and mirin and sauté for a few minutes until fragrant. Add the sesame seeds and cook for another minute. Add the cooked shellfish to the pan, and stir to coat with the sauce.

보리굴비 is another popular snail dish in Korea that is made with barley. It is a time-consuming dish, as the cleaning and preparation of the snails take a while. However, the results are worth the effort, as this is a healthy and delicious soup.

The key ingredients to prepare 보리굴비 are the following:

• 2 cups of barley

• 2 tablespoons of sesame oil

• 1 cup of pork

• 1 onion

• 2 cloves of garlic

• 2 tablespoons of mirin

• 2 tablespoons of soy sauce

• 2 tablespoons of sesame seeds

• 2 teaspoons of black pepper

• 1 teaspoon of sugar

• 6-8 cups of water

First, you need to prepare the snails. Clean and rinse the snails in cold water before boiling them in 6-8 cups of boiling water for 5 minutes. Drain the water and set aside the cleaned snails.

In a soup pot, heat the sesame oil over medium heat. Add the pork, onion, garlic, mirin, soy sauce, sesame seeds, pepper, and sugar. Sauté for about 5 minutes until the pork is cooked through.

Add the sesame seeds and cook for another minute. Add the cooked snails to the pan, along with the seaweed and cheongyang peppers. Turn the heat to low and simmer for another 10 minutes or until the snails are tender.

Serve the 영광굴비 over hot cooked rice or noodles. This unusual and flavor packed dish is sure to please!
