In September 2017, we launched the Better Together update for Minecraft on Xbox One, iOS, Android as well as the Windows 10 version and Gear VR (and since the time, we've added Nintendo Switch to the Better Together family). The update was essentially an updated version of the game, the Bedrock version, which let Minecraft players enjoy multiplayer with one another across all those platforms! That was a fantastic update! Good luck topping that Nether update...
But why are we giddy about this update two years more than two years later? You can still download the Bedrock update in case you own or play Minecraft: Xbox One Edition. You've been in a position to do this since we released the Better Together update, but this offer won't last forever. Existing Minecraft: Xbox One Edition players now have until November 30th, 2019 to redeem their free update to the Bedrock version. b2pconnections.com
Updates are easy! You'll need to log in to your Xbox profile on your console. If you own Minecraft: Xbox One Edition and have played for five hours or purchased DLC in the past twelve months, you're eligible to receive a free update to Bedrock. If you've not played for five hours over the past 12 months/bought any DLC, you can satisfy either of the requirements (it's a pretty good excuse to play Minecraft for five hours) before November 30 2019. You will be sent an 5x5 code through Xbox Messaging, which allows you to redeem the Bedrock version. Be prepared for a brief wait to receive your code, since it could take a few weeks while we process redemption requests.
BUT WHY SHOULD I GET THE UPDATE?
You'll be playing multiplayer on all platforms with your friends on iOS, Android and Windows 10 Edition. Are you still not convinced?
