Mordlust Schurzen Album Review
Mordlust Schurzen is an exciting investigation into the relationship between lovers of the past and the present, as well as the ephemeral space between humans and nature. Featuring Hanns Zischler, who was a mainstay of Wim Wenders films, Michaela Catranis on cello and guitar, as well as Schumann's famous lieder cycle in a version that is adapted for the instruments. This double album examines the complexities of love as well as the stunning beauty of the forest.



It's not a fact that Germans are obsessed with our country however this popular series proves that there's more to Germany than beer and sausage. The popular true crime podcast explores the role of murder and other crimes throughout German history, with journalists Paulina Krasa and Laura Wohlers examining both strafrechtliche and psychological aspects of the cases they examine. With each episode, the two journalists focus on two particular crimes and investigate their backgrounds.


The first episode starts with the murder in 18th-century of a wealthy landowner. It examines the background of both the perpetrator as well as the consequences of the crime. The first episode is disturbing and dark, but also well written. The storyline is fascinating and the two female characters are excellent at exploring both sides of the issue. The two ladies excel in highlighting xenophobia, which is the central topic of this season's Mordlust.


Mordlust Dekorationen looks at an infamous 17th-century rape. This is a very interesting case and it's refreshing to see two women are willing to provide such detailed information about these horrific events. The final episode of the first season is about the murder which took place in the 20th century. It's a fascinating murder and the podcast is excellent at looking at the sex offender's background and also analyzing the motives behind the murder.

The show is extremely engaging and does an amazing job at highlighting the darker aspect of German culture. If you're looking to know more about Germany, this show is a must-see! The hosts are very skilled and invest a lot into each episode. This is a very entertaining podcast that I strongly recommend it! It's worth a 9/10.
