In the year 2020, the band unveiled a controversial video for their single Living The Dream that led to tension between the lead singer and rhythm guitarist Zoltan Bathory. The video shows a stern figure was seen tying a hammer and sickle badge to a mask-wearing man and instructed him to smash the ice-cream van, which was adorned with the American flag. The clip was widely denounced as a flagrant anti-American insult.



The bassist Chris Kael and drummer Jeremy Spencer who left the band it was a mystery as to what direction the band would follow when they released their next album. Kevin Churko, who previously was the producer of Ozzy's album War Is The Answer, and Andy James (previously of instrumental prog metal group Scale The Summit) were the new producers. There was a lot of expectation that the band would put out an album that would push limits further than their previous release.


"AfterLife" is the foundation of an average FFDP album. It's a solid album, but nothing to write home about. The musicians are good, with some Slipknot-lite chunky guitars by Jason Hook and rhythm guitarist Zoltan Bathory, and gruff Great Value Corey Taylor vocals from Ivan Moody. The melodies of songs such as "Welcome to the Circus" and "Times Like These" are pretty catchy, but there is little that differs from the standard we've come to expect from this band.
