The Minecraft Phantom, a fluttering hostile mob that preys on players who have been playing for three days straight without falling asleep is a threat that can be seen flying. Their beady green eyes can be able to spot you from a distance away, so be prepared.



A Minecraft Phantom leaves an arc of puffy grey smoke as it circles idly, which is visible in creative mode since it isn't able to attack. The Minecraft Phantom is prone to taking more damage if hit with a sword that's enchanted with smite, or is injured by the instant health effect. They are invulnerable to poison and can reverse the effects of instant damage potions.



They attack by swooping down and don't stay in the same location for long, which makes it difficult to hit the right hit using a bow. The best way to take down the phantom is using the sword. You can also send your tamed Wolf. If all else fails the phantom will run from any cat that is within 16 blocks of it.

In the Java eiditon, Minecraft Phantoms appear in the Overworld during the night or during a storm. These phantoms will always spawn above your head, making it difficult to avoid them. If you're suffering from insomnia and have gone three or more days without sleeping, you can expect to hear the screams of a phantom as it covers the sky above you. To make matters worse, phantoms are more inclined to reproduce if you don't get enough sleep.



To create a phantom you must be at or below sea level and not have a block over your head that blocks light. To allow the phantom to appear in Minecraft, it must be within the phantom's two-foot light limit. You can expect to hear the screech and flapping of wings of 1-6 phantoms that will create 20-34 blocks above you.
