He had a four-year spell at Fort Ord within the military (where he volunteered). There he met one or two mature younger men who encouraged him to suppose about learning additional and an African American trainer who impressed in him a love of maths. In 1984 he acquired the Premier Group Award for prestigious service by a member of the Faculty of Law and the Wits Alumni Honour Award for distinctive service to the community. Wits began its BSc (Nursing) programme in 1969, the primary of its kind in South Africa and the forerunner of today’s Bachelor of Nursing diploma. Williamson joined Wits in 1970 as senior lecturer and served as short-term head of the nursing sub-department in 1973, when she also served on the Senate Committee. She grew to become the University’s first Professor of Nursing following the establishment of an impartial division in 1977.
More recently, he curated exhibitions of historical European artists Joan Miro and Marc Chagall at the Standard Bank Gallery. A legendary convivial host and visitor, Crump liked a great story and a stimulating debate about art, politics or sport. He was an avid scholar rugby participant and athlete, and a consummate pianist.
Dr Klein was acknowledged by his friends and sufferers as one of many country’s best diagnosticians. He believed in life-long learning, publishing widely and addressing many congresses and symposiums. He lectured at the Johannesburg General Hospital and Wits Medical School and was an examiner for last yr medical students. Martin is survived by her daughter Catherine, son John (Ziyaad) and his wife Shereen, and grandchildren Leilah and Reyaaz. Her second daughter, Peta, died of malaria and then six months later her husband died of a heart assault. She had a decisive nature, and married Joseph Katzenellenbogen after three weeks of engagement.
They have been married earlier than the couple for whom the engagement get together was held, they usually danced the night time away at their wedding and on their honeymoon, and never stopped dancing collectively. They beloved to travel and entertain; liked accumulating artwork and supporting aspiring artists. His quiet, agency manner, eager insight and technical knowledge had been put to the test in creating teamwork and an efficient working relationship in the multinational design team.
