You were excited. We were excited. The excitement was evident throughout the entire event. Minecraft Festival tickets were going to be released on Friday of this week, officially beginning the countdown to our in-person blockstravaganza this September. After much consideration and thought we decided to delay the event this year.
In recent weeks, the COVID-19 epidemic has caused many organizers to cancel or postpone gatherings and events around the world as a precaution to ensure the safety and health of their guests. The situation surrounding Minecraft Festival, however, is a bit different. September is still several months away, and we are not making any predictions about how long it will be to end the outbreak us. This is an outcome of the lengthy preparations needed to stage an event of this magnitude.
Our producers, partners and exhibitors are located in all corners of the globe, and as of now we can't meet and work in the way we need to. We are unable to know when we can begin planning again, therefore we have decided to hold off on the event. That way we can be sure that next year's event will be the one that the community hopes for and deserves.
Granted, this is all quite disheartening. But there is good news as well! Minecraft Live will be happening according to plan. It'll be the place for all the most recent Minecraft news, announcements, and behind the scenes exclusives, and it will be live-streamed directly to your screen, no matter where you are.
