Minecraft's Mangrove Restoration Project Map is all About Activism

Minecraft is an area where anything can be done. It's one of the shining examples of the possibilities that sandbox games can be made of since people utilize it to play in many different ways. Some people use it to recreate their favorite games, while others prefer to mess around with the in-game systems to basically program new things into it, and some just enjoy creating amazing things.



There are also plenty of cool maps that are available for download including one of the most fascinating of them is The Mangrove Restoration Project by Everbloom Games. Everbloom Games makes a lot of maps, but this one is more environmentally friendly. The map tasks players with trying to repair the mangrove forests around the globe by planting new trees.

You should make use of a monitor to keep an eye on the CO2 levels as well, and the more you improve the climate of the world by planting more trees and wildlife habitats, the more wildlife returns to the area. The map features a large number of unique wildlife and beautiful kayaks. It also highlights how we can positively impact our environment. While it's not as exciting as getting out in the world and doing good, it's an excellent way to teach younger players about how we can try and help the planet.



The map, dubbed Rooted Together is available for download here. It's a big element of the collaboration with the Nature Conservancy Mojang, which has them donating $200,000 and some charity stream coming later in summer. It's nice to see that this initiative is more than just an interesting map to play around with.
