Evelyn monitors detention at a prestigious academy. One student who is frequently there is a young woman who belongs to a noble French family. Her name is Soran, and she's known to be a delinquent. Soran typically skips class, doesn't follow the dress-code, and is rude.

Then one day, as Evelyn sits in her classroom monitoring the students who are being punished, she sees Yingyue, a young man from a prestigious Chinese family, and he's peeking inside. Yingyue is known to be friendly and laidback.

"May I help you?" Evelyn asks.

"Ah, hello, miss. May I come inside?" Yingyue asks.

(Switch to present-tense third-person.)


"My girlfriend's in here so I wanted to come keep her company," he replies.

"Hi, baby!" Yingyue calls out to Soran.

Yingyue's smile fades to a disgruntled expression. "I'm afraid that's none of your business, miss. In addition, I've already finished my classwork and have asked my professor for permission to come here," he says.

Yingyue pulls out a slip with a signature.

He ignores her, going to sit in the seat in front of Soran and turning it around to face Soran.

He tucks a lock of Soran's hair behind her ear as he asks, "Are you hungry, baby?"

Yingyue takes snacks out of his pockets and gives them to Soran.

"Open up," Yingyue says, holding up a piece of a granola bar to Soran's lips.

"Do I get my thank-you kiss?" he asks cheekily.
