Dayseeker Pillow
Dayseeker, the Los Angeles-based metalcore band which has been going strong for the last several decades are currently on a phenomenal run. It's no surprise that the band have gained recognition for being among the most passionate, emotive groups in their genre. They are now ready to reach their peak with Dark Sun.
Dayseeker Merch is a major achievement in the discography it's not just because of what they've accomplished musically but also due to their ability to draw attention to listeners with their distinctive vision. It's the natural progression of their critically acclaimed Sleeptalk album that allowed them to redefine their role as a frontman in the crowd.
Dayseeker decided to go against the grain with their metalcore sound and instead explore electronic pop-rock. Much like Hurtwave (the synthwave side project comprised of vocalist Rory Rodriguez and drummer Mike Karle), the group reimagines their main material to make an edgier, less sluggish musical palette.
Songs such as "Crying while you dance" and the title track do a fine job of making this album their best of the year. The tracks aren't driven by guitars rather, they employ an advanced synth-driven structure that can complement the lyrics and vocals in a way that other albums of the genre do not.
Although this album does feel like a little light and a slightly cheesy, the album is a significant step up from their previous outing, Dreaming Is Sinking /Waking Is Rising. While it's not a long-lasting record however, it's a good collection of songs that will remain in your memory for the rest of your time.
It's a bold step for a band of the Dayseeker's level to dominate pop-rock. This isn't something that is easy to accomplish. Even so, it's worth noting that they haven't totally thrown away their roots in metalcore. A couple of their more gritty moments on this album can be heard as an indication of how their music has developed through the years. While they're not the best music writers, that doesn't mean they won't be a force to reckon with in the current era.
