How To Help Preschoolers Cope With The Death Of A Grandparent Or Other Family Member
Many families have purchased grave sites prior to a death or funeral service. Did you know that you can even purchase your entire funeral arrangement and service before you die? Pre-planning your own funeral is a great way to save some money and save your family the expense and heartache of planning your funeral when you are gone.

I've personally grieved the loss of family members and dear friends; however, recently I experienced, for the first time, a slow, impending death. I watched my 91 year old Mother for months as she made her transition. I watched her body return to the fetal position, her frail skeletal frame show protruding bones and unpreventable decubitus ulcers, feeding tube challenges, and constant pain. Through it all, though, she never lost her warm smile and her tenacity to fight. I marveled at her strength and wonder if I could ever have that much fortitude. I watched her peacefully die, at home, in her sleep, just as she had said she wanted to die.

Little Johnnie won't stop crying about that darned cat. OK. Johnnie's sad. He needs to cry and he NEEDS to know that it's not only OK to cry, but that it's SAFE to cry. By telling him not to cry, you're telling him: "Don't feel bad" - why shouldn't he? His cat just died and his whole world has changed beyond belief for him. You may be angry because he won't stop crying because it's annoying, but mostly you can't say or do anything to make your little one feel better. You feel frustrated and powerless to help someone you love. On a whole, society just doesn't have the tools to cope with grief.

Many people fear that they won't get everything done they wanted to accomplish. There has been books wrote upon and a movie done about "The Bucket List." Some worry they haven't completed everything God sent them here to do.

It is heather to have a celebration. A funeral is normally very depressing and many people have problems coping with the loss. The traditional funeral seems no more than an invitation to increase grief, but a celebration as a funeral can help to relieve strain and stress. It can help the family get over their grief as they learn to look on the bright side and recall all their happy memories of the loved on that has gone. There are some people who have serious problems with grief, but a happy funeral is good therapy.

When you gather the photos, get some information about them. Find out the time, place, people and occasion of the photos. And when you do, include that as a caption. If you are unsure, look on the back! There is often a description - and some photo processing labs from the 1960s onwards helpfully printed the processing date on the back of the picture.

The old handyman was a familiar sight in Eagan Creek. Dressed in his usual attire, faded bib overalls, a plaid flannel shirt and a sweat-stained brown fedora, folks treated him more so as an oddity than as a hired workman. Strange and aloof, he didn't fit into this tight-knit community. People found him unsettling, especially those gray eyes hiding behind steel-rimmed glasses--haunting, suspicious. And the deep wrinkles in his face left questions, maybe a vengeful and unforgiving life? Sometimes he could be abrupt and thick-headed. Yet he was a capable worker, even at seventy-one years, lean of body, hair nearly white. Somehow, he managed a meager existence, watching his pennies, working a half-day here, an hour there.

So, what we are left with is this. People who murder other people deserve to die. This includes all forms that exist outside of the rules that we have set up as a society. Those instances that we have in which we are willing to allow one person to kill another. For now, the matter of capital punishment is left up to the States. Whether or not it becomes a federal law will have to be decided by all Americans. For those of us that have never had to deal with the tragedy of having a loved one murdered, we will never fully grasp the situation. For those of us that have, they know the pain and anger, and the effect it can have on an individuals life. Perhaps the matter of capital punishment should be left up to them?
