Cruella Del Vil - The Perfect Costume to Celebrate Halloween
Cruella de Vil is Disney’s most iconic villain. She's a well-known villain in film history and a favourite Halloween costume for women.

Cruella is a live-action prequel in which Emma Stone plays Estella De Vil, an aspirant fashion designer who moves into London to work with the Baroness von Hellman. It's a rare opportunity for us to see this iconic character as a new persona. The first trailer has shown us some of the possibilities.

Cruella was adorned by Jenny Beavan (who won two Oscars) for her work on Mad Max Fury Road. She was inspired by London, a burgeoning culture of punk and Vivienne westwood for the film's costumes.

Thankfully, Beavan and her crew were able take inspiration from this time period without compromising style or authenticity.

Beavan explains "We went in the time period that Vivienne Westwood is the most influential. We made sure to incorporate this." Her look is a mix between vintage and modern styles. She also reflects '70s underground fashion. However, it's bold, innovative, and stylish.

She is also a fan of bright colors and her costumes reflect that. From her red leather motorcycle suit to her striking satin skirt, it's clear that she is wearing many bright colors that reflect the rebellious side of her character.

There are some references to her love affair with animals, such as the white fur coat she wears at one point. It's a nod at her desire to own the luxurious fur of Dalmatian puppies.

The costume designers have worked tirelessly to bring the origin story of this character to life. Beavan's costumes, while being very stylish, still evoke a strong sense of power.

Both her blazer and pencil are made from fur-like fabric. The skirts are lined with bloodred, much like her evening gloves. It's a fashionable choice for a fashion-forward, and she also wears a long, black dress.

It's not the color of the dress that is important. It's the cut and the way it reflects her bone structures. The hems on her dresses are tight, which accentuates her figure. However, the sleeves are loose enough to allow for movement.

A teased-up, laced-up wig and heels are also part of her character's look. This is not the only option to achieve a look inspired by Disney's 101 Dalmatians. However, it's an excellent choice for anyone who wants to be glam but also have a sense of danger.
