Colter Wall is a Canadian singer-songwriter from Swift Current in Saskatchewan, who is well-known for his gruff baritone that screams like smoke from a chimney. The first track, "Western Swing", is an edgy romp, with its loud horn section and a fun harmonica solo. This is a fun groove, loping and fun song which kicks off what could become a very successful album.


With the triumvirate of harmonica, pedal steel and acoustic guitar, Wall has captured the eerie echo of the '90s back-alley country He's done an excellent job mixing the atmosphere with an exuberant energy that will make you want to dance along. Wall's"High and Mighty" and "High and Mighty", which have an increased tempo than his previous works is both energetic. "Rocky Mountain Rangers," however is a lively version on bluegrass.


Another highlight of the album is the surprisingly cheerful "Motorcycle," which sounds like it's been lifted straight from the American popular culture, with an infectious melody that is able to carry the murder ballad's sly premise. And Official Colter Wall Merchandise Store sung in "You Have a Look to Yours" is an enlightening modern take on an old folk theme: "Don't trust no politician."


This is a timeless message that Wall is sure to be proud of. It is a reminder to remember that sometimes the best option is to go out and change the world.



This album will please both traditional and neotraditional country music lovers. This album is an ominous choice for a 21-year old, and shows the talents that are going to be celebrated for a long time. This album is essential listening for fans of country music!
