I think alliances had the biggest impact on World War I. Countries were buddies and promised to help each other out, but if one country got into a fight, all its buddies had to join in too. This made the war bigger and pulled in more countries. There were two big groups of buddies called the Triple Entente and the Triple Alliance, and they got other countries to join too.

Nationalism, militarism, and imperialism also caused problems and fights between countries, but it was the alliances that made the war spread all over the world. The buddies were connected and helped each other out, but that also meant that if one country went to war, its buddies had to go too. The alliance system was one of the main reasons why World War I happened.

I think that out of the four Primary reasons for World War One, militarism had the most effect. This is because the arms race and the value placed on the military might result in a rise in the size and power of armies. It would have been simpler for nations to declare war on one another as a result. The deployment of new technology like machine guns and poison gas made the conflict considerably deadlier and more difficult to win, which was another contributing factor.

Alliances, imperialism, and nationalism undoubtedly contributed to the outbreak of World War One, but militarism, in my opinion, had a greater influence. Alliances helped the conflict expand, but they were mostly a result of the weapons race and people's fear of being left in a world ruled by strong forces. Nationalism and imperialism share a similar connection to the concept of military power and the desire to increase one's dominance and influence over others. The destruction of World War I was ultimately brought on by the military forces' overwhelming power.
