The subject of death is considered morbid, but it is reality-we are all going to die. It is sad to be separated from our loved one, but death should not be viewed by Christians in an extreme negative connotation. To have such an attitude is to deny the victory the faithful one has received. Our whole purpose as a Christian is to live righteously so that we can go to heaven.
First, the baby died. That in itself is a tragedy. Mom carried the fetus for however long she carried it, and to now be faced with the grim reality that what was growing in her body is now gone, has got to be hard for her.
Set aside time to think about all the above things. The length of time doesn't particularly matter. Half an hour. An hour. A couple of hours. The important thing is to have a set time.
Muhammad suggested, "Die before you die or you'll die a thousand death s." Jesus said, "Deny yourself." The self you are to deny--that must die--is not the self you really are. How could it be? It must be instead "the mind-made self"--the you, you think is you. It must be the you, you see in a mirror--what Albert Einstein called "the optical illusion in consciousness." It could not be the you, you really are. As long as you confuse the house wherein you live, however, with the person you really are, there will be resistance to aging or, more accurately, to dying and to death.
When it comes to casket funeral flowers, colors do really matter. Though you can select any color of flower and use it for a funeral casket flower, but you need to remember that it is the last homage you are paying to that person, so you need to make it a bit special.
People are unsure of what death really is. They believe no one knows what happens after death. Not understanding what comes after death scares them. Do we fade off into nothingness or do we live on in another form? They are unsure whether they did everything right to merit an afterlife. Which brings us to the next reason we fear death.
How you react to all of this is going to teach your child how to deal with loss and grief for the rest of their lives. Approach it all with love, honesty and understanding and you'll be on the right track.
