Macaroni and Cheese
What comes to mind when you consider comfort food? I'd say macaroni and cheese, homemade apple pie, chicken and dumplings, old fashioned pot roast, fried chicken, a good spaghetti dinner with all the current fixings. Anything goes, but did you ever consider your choice could also be related to your heritage and upbringing.

Years back there wasn't junk food places around. Family meals at home around the dining room table consisted of a home cooked meal that Mom usually prepared and everyone sat down on time and together. Ah! The good days of the past. Bye. Bye.

Society and social protocol, as I call it, happened. It changed our pilgrimage to dining as it was previously,. The white rabbit said it best, "I'm late. I'm late," but why is that so important that it changed the fate of our good old fashioned sit down, homemade, fun loving relationship with food and all the condiments of family living that evolved as a result. There's places on the globe that a glimmer of this existence can be found. Unfortunately, it's in the poorer areas. Sad to say we haven't progressed in the finer things of life as we must have. We've just substituted more pressing existences to disguise our 'common folk' foundations.

Simple food, simple people, simply shouldn't be overlooked. The same is usually to be said about getting back to basics. That is why I'm so passionate about getting more people thinking about cooking and all the ambiances that are part of the package. You see it draws people, friends and family, together again, to talk about in the knowledge anew. The talking and camaraderie, the elbow jabs and laughs. Just what a sight to behold. All because we decided to risk the embarrassment, even if we failed, knowing it's okay.

You are your own style, good or bad, and it's always welcome, because your property is the heart of you and cooking is the food that fuels that heart, called 'homemade'. W here ver your paths lead you, be it circumstance or choice, you can't overlook the possibilities which are around every corner. Some beckon you with visions of grandeur among others say it isn't so. Regardless of what you chose you need to still travel that unmapped journey that only triumph or failure will result in locating the treasure, happiness or even more determination at the end of that path. You will want to take that first rung on the ladder and branch out in to the culinary world with friends, family and some good spoonfuls of hidden talent? You won't ever know what you've missed from until you check it out.
