The game studio won't slack off your complaints. It's telling WoW players that it has been mulling the idea of operating its own "pristine" servers, without the boosts and tweaks that have slipped into the online role-playing title over time.
There aren't any plans for the future, so don't believe that anything will occur in the near future. This isn't idle discussion. Blizzard is also in contact with some Nostalrius operators. Discussions have gotten more lively dramatically since Nostalrius was shut down. You may see an official server that shares at least some of the features that the community-created alternative offers.

It could be counterintuitive to Blizzard to consider an old-fashioned server in a time when it is expected to enjoy the latest and greatest features. It's possible, but there is a reason for it. WoW is now 12 years old and its subscriber base is declining. A throwback server may not only avoid thorny legal issues, but also deter some veteran fans from resigning their subscriptions. While this is unlikely to lead to revival, it could help delay the inevitable.
