It is so commonplace, that it has turned into a business by itself for most millions of doctors around the world. The bond with medicine and trauma treatment is nearly but forgotten. Gone are the days when it was used mainly for correcting disfigurement because of accidents or age. Nowadays healthy adults who are barely past their teens resort to plastic surgery to look "better".

But is this example suggestive of a greater malady?

In the present day day world of fast paced lives, investment in health has turned into a "time-consuming" affair. Thus in many parts of affluent society it has arrived at pass the people prefer to just "remove the fat" than to sweat it right down to size. Lives are destroyed because of botched surgeries, that have been never necessary to begin with!

The use of plastic surgery for trivial "touch-ups" indicates severe deficiencies in our current value systems. This trend should be actively stopped with due legislation, before a lot more minds are permanently damaged with this particular unreal self-obsession.
