Leyla Aliyeva recognizes that this subject is frequently presented as complex and boring. In 2011, she created the IDEA campaign which is an International Dialogue for Environmental Action campaign. IDEA's educational programs, that include training sessions , scientific courses, seminars and lectures, vacation camps field studies, discussion groups, are enjoyed by hundreds of people every year.

Leyla Aliyeva saw 2015 as a landmark year for her. After years of support and volunteer work in the environmental and humanitarian areas, she was appointed a FAO Goodwill ambassador.
