It Was A Dark And Stormy Night
What could be more useful than a dynamo torch? Never short on batteries, always ready just when you need it and the torch has a choice of different settings from a low light level single LED, a stronger 3 LED beam or a flash setting. This small and good feeling torch is the sort of device that your recipients will want to put somewhere safe, ready to be used in an emergency. This means that your promotional gift will be very long lived!

led torch light If you already have a night lamp, then a really good bulb is an LED night bulb. These bulbs can emit plenty of white light yet use less than 1 watt of electricity, which is about a tenth of the cost of your standard night CFL's. Because LED lights run cool, they are not only more energy efficient but they are also perfect as a night light. Typically LED's have a very long lifespan, so you can expect a lot of use out of them.

Using a single LED for a night light, like in the bathroom, can be a real life saver. Well, it may not save your life but if you have to get up at 2am to go, you won't be blinded by the light and you should be able to go right back to sleep. A single LED connected through a SPST toggle switch mounted on the bathroom light fixture can provide just enough light to do your business.

If you run out of fuel where you are camping, where is the nearest place to get fuel? This applies to electronic type lighting too. What type of batteries does it take? Do you have spares?

catto moon led night light There are four main types of lights that are used in the home, each one is unique. The first and earliest design after candle and gaslight is incandescent. Incandescent has been around for over one hundred years and creates light by running electricity through a filament. This filament heats up and produces light while it is hot. Because of such process, about ninety percent of the energy used is only converted into heat. The remaining ten percent becomes converted into light. So, if you use incandescent light bulbs for your downlights and outdoor lights, you will waste energy. For this reason most incandescent bulbs are either being phased out or have already been banned within the EU.

You may ask "What is so great about LED holiday lighting?" They are superior in several ways. These bulbs operate on approximately 10% of the energy drain of the incandescent they replace!! A typical miniature set that ran on 18 watts now operates on around 2 watts without any sacrifice of light output. In addition, the life rating on the led bulbs range from 50,000 to 100,000 burning hours compared to the incandescent rating of 1,000 to 3,000 hours. Using the plastic faceted covers has also solved the fading problem while adding a crystal/non glaring visual effect.

Such an alarmingly toxic substance in a supposedly green energy-saving light bulb may put you right off all this energy efficiency. There is another less toxic option to consider: led light bulbs. They cost more than CFLs, it's true, but they do not contain mercury and are less breakable. They also last longer than CFLs, so that in cost over lifespan terms they work out slightly cheaper. They should also be recycled at the end of their life-span as they do contain other heavy metals. One big advantage is that they last far longer than any other light bulb, so that there are fewer units that need recycling, or disposing of. A big green plus.

The best way to tell the color of a light is to look for the rating in Kelvins (K), also known as the color temperature and find a guide that shows the colors of different temperatures. Searching for "color temperature" in Google should give you many results.
