Minecraft creator Mojang plans spin-off game

Minecraft maker Mojang is planning a spin-off game based on its wildly popular block-building game.
It's known as Minecraft: Story Mode and will be an episodic video game that takes place in the familiar Minecraft world however it introduces new characters to the world.
Telltale Games, which has produced a number of episodic titles and is now developing the game.
The first episode will be available on consoles, PCs and Macs in 2015, and also on Android devices.

It is unclear what the experience will be. Mojang has released a brief browser-based game named InfoQuest II that demonstrates what it might appear like.
Mojang said in a blog post that the game would be developed with the help of the Minecraft community.
It aimed to assure players that Story Mode would not be like the bloody and violent games Telltale has previously released. Telltale's most recent games include Tales from the Borderlands, The Wolf Among Us and games based on Game of Thrones and the zombie-themed thriller The Walking Dead.
"Telltale's Minecraft-like game will be like Minecraft," stated Mojang, "though it is a completely original take inspired by our game."
The news of Story Mode comes soon after Mojang released a finished version of its Scrolls card-based battle game.
