Yoshitomo Narada is a popular artist with a popular cult following. He is considered to be one of Japan's most important contemporary artists of the 1990s. His works are displayed in museums and galleries across Japan as well as the West.

After graduation from the Aichi University of the Arts in 1988, he studied at the famous Kunstakademie Dusseldorf in Germany. The school was run by German painter A.R. Penck an instructor who was instrumental in shaping Nara's distinctive style.
