Unexpected Pleasures From Unique Birdhouses
Isn't it fun sometimes to start out knowing exactly where you're going and how you will get there, and then discover there is a detour, so you have a different route and also have a completely unexpected, fun experience? That may happen in some of the strangest regions of your life.

Last year, in planting season, I was employed in my flowerbed, digging diligently all of the weeds that had sprouted from the spring rains. I kept hearing this clicking sound. I'd stop and listen, the sound would stop and I'd start digging again. This went on for two hours until finally I had to get the way to obtain the sound and started searching.

Imagine how amazed Custom made birdhouse was to find an unexpected resident in the painted wooden birdhouse I had left on the patio during the cold months of winter. It appears a Mother Possum had deposited her family for safe keeping in my birdhouse. I have no idea the circumstances that caused her to leave her infants in my own care, however they stayed in the birdhouse until they were absolutely too big to match into the small space. We never saw the mama possum.

So my lesson was learned; though I had purchased the bright blue painted birdhouse for a family of birds, it became the residence of an animal that couldn't even fly. Possums are actually not all that pretty to check out, but they are really fun to view and learn from. It had been sad to see them return back into the wild, but at least I knew these were old enough to take care of themselves.
