Minecraft mobs are living creatures in Minecraft - a short form for mobile, these often adorable, but sometimes you'll find aggressive creatures roaming the numerous biomes of the blocky universe. They'll interact and react to you, other players, and other mobs, regardless of whether it's a creeper knocking at your door, or a pig in the pen in your backyard.

Minecraft mobs are susceptible to the same environmental and physics changes that impact players, like getting caught in flames or drowning. They are able to be killed and attacked with weapons, and after they are killed, they drop resources and experience points, with hostile mobs dropping rarer items occasionally.

In Creative mode, Minecraft mobs won't attack you. However, Survival and Hardcore modes permit three different types of behavior: neutral, hostile and passive. Mobs that are useful, such as the iron golem and snowgolem can be designed to aid you against hostile mobs. Trusting mobs aren't tamed however they can be interacted with. They include dolphins, ocelots, and even the adorable Minecraft Fox. Here's a complete list of the monsters and mobs that are located in the vast Minecraft landscape.

Minecraft passive mobs

Minecraft passive mobs will not attack you, and will flee when they are attacked. They are able to breed, so you'll see infant animals in the same place. The majority of mobs that are passive can be tamed in the event that they aren't already, such as horses in Minecraft. There are also the inhabitants of Minecraft villages, such as traders and villagers. Other farmyard buddies can offer resources, including wool from cows or milk from sheep.

Minecraft neutral mobs

If they are provoked, neutral mobs in Minecraft will attack you, which could be beneficial if you're looking for items or XP. Certain neutral mobs like wolves will attack other mobs like rabbits or sheep, and llamas can be aggressive towards untamed animals like wolves. Minecraft bees are found in plains and forests of flowers or beehives which you can construct using wood planks and honeycomb.

Minecraft neutral monsters

Some Minecraft monsters in this category behave differently. For instance, cave spiders and spiders can become hostile if the light levels fall below 10.

Minecraft hostile mobs

Hostile mobs are aggressive and dangerous in Minecraft. They will attack you within a certain distance, typically 16 blocks with no obstruction. However certain mobs can detect you from 100 blocks away. Mobs that fly, like the Minecraft phantom or the Minecraft ender dragon, will appear above you and attempt to attack you. A boss mob is a special kind of enemy that is more detectable range and more health. Examples include the Minecraft Ender Dragon as well as the Minecraft Wither.
