The Strokes Merchandise
The Strokes are bona fide New York City musical royalty and helped kickstart the noughties indie rock revival with their game-changing debut album Is This It. It was the catalyst for a new rock revolution and, in turn, pushed hip skinny jeans, (p)leather jackets and Converse trainers into the mainstream.

The band consists of singer Julian Casablancas, guitarists Nick Valensi and Albert Hammond Jr., bassist Nikolai Fraiture and drummer Fabrizio Moretti. They have released six studio albums and one EP.

They have sold more than five million records worldwide. They are currently regarded as one of the best bands of their generation.

Their 2001 debut, Is This It, launched them into the public eye and helped to create a noughties indie rock revival that has continued to thrive ever since. The LP featured many critical and commercial hits, including "Hard to Explain" and the Top Ten hit "Losing It".

Formed in 1998 by lead singer Casablancas and guitarist Valensi, the band were originally signed to RCA but soon left after a few singles. They later found a new home on Casablancas' label, Cult.

Is This It is also credited with being the catalyst for a new wave of alternative music in the United States. the strokes merch became the most successful debut album of 2001, selling more than 1 million copies in the US alone. It was also a major influence on other bands in the genre, most notably Oasis and The Killers, both of whom have covered Is This It in the past.

After their success, the band began touring heavily around the world, performing at festivals such as Hultsfred Festival in Sweden and Roskilde Festival in Denmark. They also headlined the Carling Weekend festivals in the UK and played a series of shows with the Rolling Stones during their North American tour in 2002.

As they toured, the band began to attract a broader audience and gained wider recognition for their unique sound and style. Their live performances were often highly creative and innovative, combining traditional elements with more modern sounds. They also incorporated the use of electronics into their music, which led to them being called "the most technologically advanced band in the history of rock".

Their 2002 album Room on Fire continued to build on their previous work and received critical acclaim. It was praised for its diverse influences, with a mix of styles, and was compared to such groups as the Cars and Bob Marley.


The Strokes released their second studio album, First Impressions of Earth, in 2006. The album was produced by Gordon Raphael and released in March 2006. It was the band's most successful studio record to date, with the track "Heart in a Cage" peaking at number four on the Billboard Hot 100.

Following the release of First Impressions of Earth, The Strokes toured extensively in support of the album, including headlining shows in Japan and Europe. They performed at the Hultsfred Festival in Sweden, Roskilde Festival in Denmark, Oxegen Festival in Ireland and the Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland.
