The Culture of Eating Police Officers
There is a growing trend among the public to be concerned about food and nutrition. They are outraged by farmers rapping the land and torturing animals, meat packers ripping off workers and fast food restaurants using government subsidies to make profits. They are demanding to ban trans-fats, outlaw Happy Meals and tax Twinkies.

If you work in a law enforcement agency, it is especially important that you have healthy eating habits. These can help you stay strong and energetic both on and off duty.

Police officers have a high risk of lifestyle-related health conditions due to their sedentary job duties and irregular work schedules. This may contribute to the development of a wide range of diseases including obesity, diabetes and cardiovascular disease. In addition, shift work has been linked to disturbed feeding patterns and metabolic abnormalities, with the impact of this on nutrition likely to be substantial.

Dietary patterns of shift workers can differ significantly from those of non-shift workers [9,10], with a large part of this attributed to the fact that they often consume meals on their commute to and from work or while on patrol in their cars, rather than at home or at a restaurant. This can increase the likelihood that a meal will be consumed before or after a police officer has had a full night's sleep.

Unlike previous studies of dietary patterns in shift workers, this study measured caloric intake and observed that it varied significantly between day types (rest days, morning-shift and evening-shift). 먹튀제보 , police officers consumed more calories relative to their metabolic requirements on rest and morning-shift days than on evening and night-shift days. This result is in line with findings in other atypically working populations [9,10].

There are a number of different factors that influence the way police officers choose to eat. Many of them have to do with their work, but some of them are just part of the culture of eating in general.

Meat eaters: The word “meat eater” is a bit of a mouthful, but it generally refers to those who regularly consume red meat, such as beef, pork, lamb and fish. This group tends to eat more red meat than other dietary groups, such as vegetarians or vegans.

Grass eaters: The word “grass eater” is another mouthful, but it typically refers to those who do not seek out personal benefits or favors and do not waver when they are offered. This type of behavior is common in the criminal justice field and can be difficult to detect because it often comes out in interviews, not during routine physical exams.

Intuitive Eating: The art of untangling your thoughts and feelings from the food you eat

One of the biggest barriers to being more intuitive around food is our society's diet culture. It has normalized judgmental thinking about food and pushed people to believe they need to be strict with their diet rules. Trying to challenge this mindset is not easy, but it's well worth the effort.
