The Royal Salute 21 years of age is in mention of long tradition of firing cannons like a manifestation of respect or welcome to sovereigns and dignitaries: the 21 Gun Royal Salute. In the past, this special blend has stayed true to its roots.
Rich, fruity aromas and sweet fragrance of autumn flowers. Powerful aromas of sweet pears and citrus fruits are balanced with full fragrance of Autumn flowers. Elegant aromas of sweet vanilla plus a dry oakiness are enhanced with subtle notes of sherry and smoke. Full, deep fruity flavors which has a subtle smokiness. The 1st taste of Royal Salute brings the subtleties of the nose to life. Sumptuous sweet orange marmalade flavors infused with fresh pears burst across the tongue. The 2nd taste generates an abundant medley of spices along with a nuttiness of hazelnuts that have a mouth-filling intensity and so the final warmth from hints of masculine smokiness. Rich, long, and lingering finish.
Today, Royal Salute has marked each significant event from the lives of the British Monarchy and is also unique in having only used whiskies aged a minimum of 21 years in their blends.
