The Royal Salute 21 years of age is at reference to the long tradition of firing cannons being a symbol of respect or welcome to sovereigns and dignitaries: the 21 Gun Royal Salute. Over the years, this special blend has stayed true to its roots.
Rich, fruity aromas and sweet fragrance of autumn flowers. Powerful aromas of sweet pears and citrus fruits are balanced with full fragrance of Autumn flowers. Elegant aromas of sweet vanilla and a dry oakiness are enhanced with subtle notes of sherry and smoke. Full, deep fruity flavors with a subtle smokiness. The initial taste of Royal Salute brings the subtleties from the nose alive. Sumptuous sweet orange marmalade flavors infused with fresh pears burst throughout the tongue. The second taste brings in an abundant medley of spices along with a nuttiness of hazelnuts which have a mouth-filling intensity therefore the final warmth from hints of masculine smokiness. Rich, long, and lingering finish.
Even today, Royal Salute has marked each significant event from the lives from the British Monarchy which is unique of having only ever used whiskies aged at least 21 years rolling around in its blends. This is the unique persistence for quality and tradition which includes led to the informal motto, “We Begin Where Others End”.
