Hulu's cult comedy show PEN15 isn’t your typical girl-powered teen series. Instead, Maya Erskine and Anna Konkle (Rosewood), who co-created the show, portray their teenage selves in front a group of middle school students. The result is a funny, sometimes poignant look at awkward years that can feel like an endless loop of firsts.

Hulu's premiere season of the show was a hit. It featured a candid depiction on adolescence, and an honest look at the discomforts that this age can cause. The second season, which is even more emotional and raw, shows how a girl’s junior year can be very personal.
