This was my first observation when I visited the cemetery where an apple tree has been planted in memory of my husband's death. I noticed that I am still feeling sensitive when I am looking at an apple tree.


We knew Grandma had prearranged her funeral prior to her death. She had given us a small laminated card that said, "Simplicity Plan, at the time of my death call." That small card soon became a major blessing.

Many regions and religious teachers identify the Angel of death by the names of Samael, Azrael, and Sariel and of course the most common of all, Satan. By searching many ancient texts, we can find other names for this angel. This is the Christian biblical view, which informs us they are quite involved in continuing to minister and comfort us at the time of our death. No other religion or faith I know of, acknowledges angels ministering to humanity during the event of our separation from our bodies in death.

Having a happy funeral is more memorable than a sad one. It can become a family celebration that starts new cherished memories and increases bonding. They family grows stronger as they get over this very difficult time by leaning on each other and enjoying each other instead of gathering together to be sorrowful. Traditional funeral are dark and quiet besides the sound of weeping there is a certain air of limitation about them in the expression of emotions. Let the funeral be out of the ordinary and let the mourners be free to express joy over the person that they loved.

After three days in the first room, the next inspiration came to me. Sell the house. I talked with Hannah, my youngest daughter who still lived in the house with me. We agreed. We were both ready to let it go. I called a real estate manager and we made a plan to walk through the house and put it on the market in 4 weeks. I was in action mode. I woke up every morning with the question. What action do I take today to release the house? Clear next steps emerged every day. Every week layer after layer after layer was cleared out of the house.

My relationship waned for two reasons: apathy and fear. The apathy was inexcusable, born from that arrogance of early adulthood where everything I was doing was too important to reschedule in order to take the time to travel to visit her. Heck, that apathy started in college, even before my grandfather died.



There is a belief that some souls/spirits choose to stay in solitude for undetermined length.There are souls/spirits who choose to be earthbound. There are others who choose to re-incarnate and plan their next life on earth. Edgar Cayce predicted that he will be back on earth in 200 years.

This is all a possibility we can count on. What we wanted to say here is that our bodies in this physical world are only vehicles for our souls. Death is only a transition process toward a greater and more beautiful reality where our true selves can fulfill our true destinies. Death is not the end. Don't be afraid.
