Using a case study of an automotive company that manufactures engineering products, we will also examine how expenses can be managed within an engineering organisation. To pinpoint inefficiencies related to engineering tasks and create an activity-based cost model for an engineering product or service. we will use activity-based costing. Finally, we will discuss the activity-based costing exercise's outcomes and assess the justifications for developing an activity-based cost model.

Furthermore, cost analysis aids in determining the actual expense of production. Engineering organisations can accurately assign costs to various activities to ascertain the true cost of creating a product. This aids in correct product pricing and guarantees that the business is profitable.

Thirdly, cost analysis aids in locating possible areas for cost savings. Engineering organisations can find areas where costs can be cut without compromising the quality of the finished product by analysing expenses. This aids in lowering expenses and raising the organisation's revenue.

Fourthly, the company can adopt cost-cutting measures like lowering energy usage to cut costs.

Fifth, the company can use activity-based costing to precisely allocate costs to various tasks and spot production-process inefficiencies.

Investigating the expenses connected with making the product using the case study:

Financial data about a company that manufactures engineering products for the automotive industry was given in the case study. Using the case study as a guide, we were able to distinguish between the various costs involved in making the product, such as direct, indirect, variable, semi-variable, fixed, and general/administration costs.

We also recognised the various production-related tasks, including design, manufacturing, and testing. Costs were assigned to these tasks, and inefficiencies were found in the creation procedure.
