Multiplying Fractions and mixed numbers ↓
First multiply your numerator and denominator. (no mixed numbers)
(2 / 7) × (3 / 4) = 6 / 28
Then find the greatest common factor
2 , 6
2 , 4 , 6 , 8 , 10 , 12 , 14 , 28
Now you divide the factor by your numerator and denominator.
6/26 ÷ 2 = 3/14
First make a improper fraction. (Mixed numbers)
3 1/3 × 1 3/5
multiply denominator and whole number, then add numerator to get a numerator for the mixed number.
3 × 3 + 1 = 10 1 × 5 + 3 = 8
now keep the denominator the same.
10/3 × 8/5
now multiply.
10 × 8 = 80 3 × 5 = 15
now turn your improper fraction into a whole number.
80 ÷ 15 = 5 remainder 5 = 5 5/15
and if you can like this problem break it down all the way like below by dividing your fraction by the greatest common factor.
5/15 ÷ 5 = 5 1/3
