Everyone has their faults however, they all have powerful personalities and a passion to help others. All are members of the Planetary Union and have a special responsibility for protecting their fellow living creatures from any threats.


It's interesting to see their discussion about the Union. They don't seem like actors who are trying to mimic the characters or read a script. They appear to be discussing ways to work things out and not just telling "I believe this, You think that."


One of the most intriguing aspects of The Orville is its focus on popular culture as the source of wisdom and insight. In a time when Star Trek shows often use classical art as a basis to source, The Orville is influenced by artists like Dolly Parton, Billy Joel, and Kermit the Frog.


It's a subtle method however, it's consistent throughout the series. It's a dedication to diversity that is evident throughout the entire cast, including characters from various backgrounds and being in several roles.
