Most of us are 'not' living, but in fact, we are dying daily. This is true both in Physical and Psychological senses. In Physical sense, we die daily because, daily thousands of cells die.

Grieving is a process which has quite a clear and precise beginning but not such a clear ending. My grieving started when I received my husband's death certificate but when does the grieving end? There are some signs which might help to interpret the situation.


When the authors of our Constitution drafted the language concerning cruel and unusual punishment, they lived in a world that still remembered hanging, beheading, drawing and quartering, burning at the stake, and disembowelment.all while the victim was alive and conscious. Watch the ending of the movie Braveheart (which depicts, but does not show, disembowelment); watch the movie The Messenger: The Story of Joan of Arc(which graphically depicts burning at the stake); watch the miniseries The Tudors (which graphically depicts beheading, disembowelment, and burning at the stake). Yes, they are just movies, but the forms of execution they depict were once sanctioned by the State. When the Framers banned "cruel and unusual punishment", it was those forms of execution they had in mind.

For instance, if a contract is written, you can be sure that your funeral director won't later try and collect extra money from your family after you have died. If it's all in writing, your funeral director will know what you want, and no additional costs will be added.

Most funeral poems as you would expect talk of loss and the sadness that comes with this. However the poems you use at the funeral do not have to be sad they can instead be uplifting. They can talk about valuing the amazing things about a person and their life. The poems can be a celebration; they can talk of love for that person. poems can have any tone which you want at a funeral.



Many children ask if their pet went to heaven or parents will tell their children that the pet is in heaven. This is purely a personal choice based on the family's religious beliefs. But again, it is important for children to realize that going to heaven is permanent, too. The pet will not be returning.

Family members should work together to make sure each part of the service is taken care of. Delegating during this time is essential as it is extremely difficult for one person to take on all of the details by themselves. Planning a funeral is rarely a happy event, but with some cooperation, help and practical advice, you can create a lasting and memorable final goodbye.
