Magnetic Buckyballs
Buckyballs (also called Neocubes) are tiny sets of neodymium neodymium rare earth magnets that can be manipulated into an array of forms and patterns. They are a great way for stress relief, to stimulate creativity, and have fun.


They can be used to create patterns, designs and even stick stuff on the fridge. They can also be used to hold a half-pound wrench.

The original Buckyballs brand, Maxfield & Oberton, closed its doors in May 2014 following the resolution of a lawsuit by the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission. Numerous companies have used the "Buckyballs" trademark since then, and started selling their products under this brand name.


Speks


Although it's an homage to Buckyballs, Speks are actually the first creators of Neocubes and have been in existence since 2009. Craig Zucker, who was also the former CEO of Maxfield & Oberton, founded the company. The company has undergone many changes, but is now run by Zen Magnets LLC.


There are a myriad of shapes with speks including pyramids, cubes and even cylinders. While they're not like Rubik's Cubes but they can be challenging if you have the determination and imagination to get them to work.


You can buy them in sets of the smallest sphere, 125 or 216. It is possible to mix and mix colours to create distinctive designs.


You can break down the set into smaller ones with different sizes of spheres to simplify storage. This is a wonderful method to keep your Buckyballs well-organized in a handy area.
