Grocery Store Hours Changed to Help Cope With COVID-19

Albertsons, Aldi and BJ's Wholesale Club will all be opening early on Tuesdays and Thursdays for seniors to shop from 6 am to 9 am.

Whole Foods Market has adjusted its store hours to accommodate senior shoppers at all locations nationwide, including their 13 New York City locations. The supermarket chain will now serve its Prime customers who are 60 or older one hour before the rest of the customers, starting Wednesday March 18.

Target has also changed its hours to be more accommodating for its customers. All Target stores will now be open one hour earlier for customers 60 or older, with the exception of its deli department, which will still remain open from 4 pm to 6 pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Dollar General is also adjusting its hours to be more accessible for seniors. During the first hour of each day, seniors will be able to check out at their local store with their own ID.

As a result of these efforts, seniors should find it easier to navigate the aisles at their local supermarket, as well as receive help from store associates when needed.
