funeral program
The funeral service for my Mom proved more difficult than my sister, Diane, and I had anticipated. There were more details to cover with the funeral home than we had anticipated. Besides notifying relatives and friends, there were details to manage we had not given much thought such as Mom's insurance policy, locating the paper work on her burial plot, a burial dress, choosing a casket, and more.
It offers you the opportunity to actually plan your funeral service well in advance. This then offers you the opportunity to decide how the service will run and the way in which you would like people to commemorate your life now you have gone.
However, although this is the reality in life, the last thing that we want to happen is having a bad kind of funeral service. As much as possible we want a grand one, one that will not only impress our own corpse but also the people whom we love. However, considering the prices that our goods are having these days, it is not impossible that we will end up in the most affordable coffin. If you do not want this to happen, better think practical. Get funeral insurance!
Often the death card is a spiritual one. It draws attention to an inner battle, or an external situation that requires us to grow and mature in our spiritual selves. Lessons need to be learnt. The death card gives us permission to learn them and offers us an opportunity to undergo a process of letting go mixed with greater inner comprehension. Grief is vital, as it brings us closer to understanding ourselves and to what we want and do not want in our inner and outer worlds.
If you write out a contract with a funeral director, you can rest assured that finances will be taken care of. For instance, if a contract is written, you can be sure that your funeral director won't later try and collect extra money from your family after you have died. If it's all in writing, your funeral director will know what you want, and no additional costs will be added.
Offers of help. While food is almost always appreciated (see above), sometimes other offers of assistance are needed. Maybe you can provide some hours of childcare, walk a dog, buy a carload of groceries or clean a house. The best thing to do is ask what is needed - then provide.
When the body was cremated in a boat, the vessel was parked on land. Vikings were often burned or buried with their personal belongings. There are many examples of Norse cremation sites and cemeteries throughout Scandinavia.
